Design Story of a Bathroom

Okay, we are calling this the Design Story of our Guest Bath. But this is to be shanghaied by our kid, who is mainly fascinated with Pink and Lilac hues. For now!

Our initial predicament was creating a guest-friendly Bathroom in a Fuzzy Plush Pink Cotton Candy Gumball Squishy Blush SquishMallow Unicorn World. Meet Cement Tiles!

For our standard builder grade 5ft X 8ft bath, we found our textured cement tile in Jaipur Pink, a perfect 4X4-inch size tile.

With White grout, our flooring pairs well with a white rectangular Bathtub with subway wall tiles above. The limited area of cement tiles presents a soft and mellow splash of color.

The warmth of the wood veneer of the vanity does not overwhelm and maintains focus on the floor tiles. The frameless bathtub glass, matte black fixtures, faucets, and accessories keep it a simple and clean palette. Our clear motto when making selections is – don’t scrimp on what you touch!

The Fully recessed Black framed Medicine cabinet is from Restoration Hardware. We added a pop of Blush in the Wall mounted Double Light Sconce.

Striking a balance of materials, texture, color, and spatial needs in a canny fashion was the outcome we desired. It was accomplished, over and above, with pep and zest! Everyone deserves Joie de vivre!

Step inside! Enter our Living Space! The inception of this space was a desire for a positive, peaceful, and light-filled space. We believed in intentionally understated architecture with a minimalist design language. We drew inspiration from Brutalist and Scandinavian styles or even, say, waiting to be transported to Marfa, Texas. We chose a crisp, white backdrop for our wall with accents of mid-toned hues for warmth, texture, and tactility.
