Finally, I am back to posting in this Miradii Space! Admittedly, it has been a long time away. My last post was on our design project for my sister-in-law’s Dermatology office-based clinic in Mumbai. And then, I just felt that if I needed the motivation to create more on Miradii, it would have to be another one on Design. So, I waited for something close to my heart to be done. And it is the time!
I have lived in Jersey City, on the other side of Manhattan, across the Hudson river for 15 years. Even though we have lived in Condos/ Apartments before, we have always admired Brownstones in the Historic District and the Old Village area. After a 1BR apartment was no longer sustainable with a 6-year-old, we bought our place last October 2021. Being architects and designers, we longed to create our own Space with our vision. And this place offered us that renovation potential.
After a long year of construction (and other complicated things), we’ve made it to the other side of our residence project. When we took this on, we did push ourselves the extra mile; it felt risky; there were Pandemic supply chain issues, Permitting delays, Construction logistical issues, and a Post-Pandemic financial climate. I’ll spare you the rest but leave you with this thought. Fresh and New comes as Sea air, rolling over buoyant waves making us more aware of the moment we have arrived.
So, here we are! This is a Sneak Peek. We are happy with the way it turned out. We have learned a lot along the way. And I can’t wait to share all the spaces with you. It is coming up very soon! Stay tuned for more on this Space!
For now, here is the Kitchen Reveal ch.1
Just a little bit more …
~ Budgetary Constraints are very REAL, and we must make tough choices sometimes.
~ For architects and Designers, these hard choices seem incoherent!
~ It takes a village to build any itsy-bitsy thing, literally!
~ Behind every Pinterest, Instagram, or Blog Image, there are times when the sky keeps falling! But we love Beautiful!
